I’m disappointed that The Americans didn’t win any Emmy awards last night, but excited for fall shows to return. We started watching The Americans not long after I got out of the hospital the last time, but it was hard to pay attention to a new show, especially one like that, when I was so tired and not feeling well. So here are five shows that cheer me up and are easy to watch when I’m having a flare (and also when I’m healthy!).
I started rewatching Season 1 the last time I got out of the hospital. Even though it’s ridiculous, it makes me laugh. Available on Hulu (all seasons).
This has long been one of my favorites. If you like Gilmore Girls, you should also check out Bunheads, which unfortunately was canceled after one season. It features a lot of the actors from Gilmore Girls and Sutton Foster as the Lorelai character. You can watch full episodes on the Freeform website (why is ABC Family called Freeform now?). As with Gilmore Girls, Kelly Bishop is my favorite.
Gilmore Girls is available on Netflix (all seasons).
I just watched all of Season 1 and loved it. It took me a few episodes to get into it, so if you’re not sure at first I’d recommend sticking with it. I can’t wait for Season 2 to start October 21. Available on Netflix (Season 1) and Hulu (last 5 episodes).
I’ve seen all of the episodes so many times, but it never gets old. Available on Netflix (all seasons) and Hulu (Seasons 1-3).
New Girl always me laugh, even the lesser quality episodes. Season 6 starts tonight! Available on Netflix (Seasons 1-4) and Hulu (last 5 episodes).
