I'm traveling for the fourth, which makes me a little nervous so soon after I was in the hospital. I've been feeling pretty good lately, so hopefully it will go ok. I think the hardest part about traveling for me is managing the anxiety that comes with it, not the disease (and of course stress just makes it more likely I won't feel well physically). So I'm going to try to distract myself when I get anxious, meditate, and try to relax and enjoy some time off that's not sick leave.
Here are a few articles I found interesting this week:
Why colonoscopies aren't that bad. I completely agree.
A possible link between chronic fatigue syndrome and gut microbes.
The challenges of dealing with health insurance, even if you're a doctor.
Happy Fourth of July! Good luck to those of you traveling with a chronic illness.
